About ATV riding in Bali

Bali's ATV tracks are clustered in the villages around Ubud — Payangan, Tegallalang, Singapadu, Bongkasa and Sedang — with one operator on the Bukit peninsula near Uluwatu. Every ride follows the same rhythm: a safety briefing and practice lap, about 1.5 hours on private off-road trails behind a guide, then showers, lockers and a local lunch back at base camp. Terrain ranges from muddy plantation roads and bamboo forest to shallow river crossings, rice terraces and the famous Ubud caves.

Prices. Single-rider packages start from Rp 375.000 (about US$ 23.44) per person when you meet at the venue and top out around Rp 1.450.000 for a 450cc single ride with round-trip hotel transfers. Tandem quads — two people sharing one bike — are the cheapest way for couples or a parent with a child to ride. “With transfers” packages include a private driver within the venue's pick-up area (Ubud, or Uluwatu for Bukit Sari); from Kuta, Seminyak, Canggu, Sanur or Nusa Dua the driver charges a per-car surcharge. “Meet at venue” is cheaper if you already have a scooter or driver.

Ages and licences. Drivers must be at least 12 years old (16 at some venues) and tandem passengers can ride from 5 to 7 depending on the track. No driving licence is needed because the tracks are on private land. Helmets, boots, basic insurance, a guide, shower facilities and a meal are included on every ride listed here; Photo packages and pick-up outside the standard area are optional extras paid at the venue.
