ATV in Bali: questions and answers

The venues do not ask for a driving licence. The quads are automatic, and every ride starts with a safety briefing.

It depends on the venue. To drive your own quad: 12 at Wahana, Pertiwi, Beji River, Bukit Sari and All New, 13 at Kuber, and 16 at Alasan and Green Bali. Younger children can ride as tandem passengers with an adult: from 5 at Alasan, Wahana, Pertiwi and All New, and from 7 at Kuber and Green Bali. Only on packages with pick-up, which cost more than meeting at the venue. Most rides have one, and the ride page shows the options. It covers the Ubud area, or the Uluwatu and Pecatu area for Bukit Sari. From further away, a per-car fee is paid in cash to the driver. See areas and fees.

Wear comfortable clothes you do not mind getting muddy. Helmet and rubber boots are included. Bring a change of clothes, a towel, sunscreen, insect repellent and some cash for photos or extras. More in our what to wear guide.

On a single ATV you drive your own quad. On a tandem ATV two people share one quad: one drives and one is the passenger. The tandem price is per ATV, not per person. The driver must meet the venue's minimum driving age. More in our single or tandem guide.

You book and pay in the booking box on each ride page. It runs on Book in Bali, the secure booking system we use. Before you confirm, it shows the payment options for your booking and what is due now. The venue only collects any balance, on the day, in rupiah cash. We do not see or store your card details.

Each ride has its own cancellation terms, shown on its page and in the booking box before you pay. The terms shown when you book are the ones that apply. You can manage your booking online or message us on WhatsApp with your booking code. See our cancellation policy.

Rides run rain or shine, and rain is not a reason for a refund. If a venue closes its track because of severe weather, you can move to a new date or get a refund of what you paid.

First-timers are welcome. You get a safety briefing, a helmet and boots, and a guide leads your group. It is still off-road riding with real risk, so follow the guide. It is not suitable if you are pregnant or have heart or back problems. Each venue includes basic personal accident insurance on its own terms, and we recommend travel insurance that covers ATV riding. More in our safety guide.
