Bali has more purpose-built ATV tracks than anywhere else in South-East Asia, and almost all of them sit in a 15-kilometre band of villages around Ubud. That is good news for choice and bad news for deciding. We list eight tracks on this site because eight is how many meet our bar: private land, automatic quads, a guide on every ride, helmets and boots included, basic insurance and real showers. Below is how we would rank them, with the honest caveat that "best" depends on what you want: the wildest terrain, the shortest drive, the lowest price or the friendliest track for kids.

1. Kuber ATV — Payangan

If you only ride once in Bali, ride here. Kuber ATV in Banjar Bayad, Payangan, has the most varied course on the island: a long descent into a jungle ravine, a sequence of deep mud pools, a red-lit rock cave tunnel and a climb back out through plantation. The 250cc quads are well maintained and the venue (a big open-sided pavilion with showers, lockers and a proper restaurant) is the most comfortable of the eight. It is also the track with the most guest reviews by a wide margin. Two things to know: the 08:30 departure is the earliest on the island, and the single-rider transfer package needs at least two riders. Cancellation refunds 99% up to 24 hours before.
2. Alasan ATV — Taro, Tegallalang

Alasan ATV is the pick for riders who want power. It is the only track in Bali running 450cc quads alongside the standard 250cc, and the extra torque matters on its steep clay climbs and shallow river streams. Taro is 35 minutes north of Ubud, past the Tegallalang terraces, so the ride pairs naturally with a rice-terrace stop on the way back. Views over the valley and a waterfall lookout round it out. Refund is 96% with 24 hours' notice.
3. Green Bali ATV — Singapadu

Green Bali is famous for two set pieces: the gorilla cave, a man-made tunnel with a carved gorilla face at its mouth, and a natural waterfall you drive straight beneath. Add mud pits and river crossings and it is the most photogenic ride near Ubud. It is 20–25 minutes south of town and 40 minutes from Sanur. The catch is the age rule: single drivers must be 16, and children 7–15 ride tandem. The tandem price of Rp 600,000 for two is one of the best deals in this list. 4. Beji River ATV Adventure — Singapadu

Beji River is the cheapest single-rider ATV ride we list and the one with the wettest course: it crosses the Beji river and its side streams several times, which in the wet season means water up to the footboards. It also offers 350cc quads, unusual in Singapadu. Inclusions match the pricier tracks (lunch, welcome drink, insurance, showers), so the saving is real. Free cancellation up to 24 hours before. A very strong choice from Sanur, which is only 35–45 minutes away.
5. Wahana Bali Adventure — Singapadu

The Bali ATV Off-Road Experience by Wahana Bali Adventure runs through working farmland rather than a closed arena: mud tracks, a bamboo forest, rice terraces, a village lane and a small waterfall. It feels the most "real Bali" of the Singapadu trio and is a great first ride. Tandem passengers can be as young as 5. The one drawback is that bookings are non-refundable once confirmed, although date changes are free with 24 hours' notice.
6. Pertiwi Adventure ATV — Bongkasa

Pertiwi Adventure sits on the west bank of the Ayung River in Bongkasa, which makes it the closest track to Canggu (about an hour). The ride is muddy, splashy and village-flavoured, the post-ride Indonesian lunch is a highlight, and tandem passengers from 5 years are welcome. Bookings are non-refundable, with changes possible up to 16 hours before.
7. All New Bali Adventures — Sedang

All New Bali Adventures in Sedang is the only track we list that serves lunch before the ride. The course is 100% off-road: no village roads at all, just jungle, river streams, a bamboo forest and hidden natural caves. English-speaking guides and a relaxed venue make it a good choice for nervous first-timers. Non-refundable once confirmed; date changes with 24 hours' notice.
8. Bukit Sari ATV — Pecatu, Uluwatu

Eighth is no insult here: Bukit Sari ranks last on terrain drama but first on convenience for anyone staying on the Bukit. It is 10 minutes from Bingin, 25 from Jimbaran and 30 from Nusa Dua, on limestone rather than clay, with watered mud sections, steep short climbs and open straights. A fresh coconut at the break point and a local lunch are included. Free cancellation up to 24 hours before. If the alternative is a three-hour round trip to Ubud, this is the smarter ride.
